Secure your phone and laptop for crypto

If your device is compromised, your wallet security can collapse fast. You don’t need paranoia — you need a baseline.

Phone checklist

• Strong passcode + Face/Touch ID enabled.
• Keep iOS/Android updated (security patches matter).
• Remove unused apps and avoid random keyboard/VPN apps.
• Turn on SIM PIN to reduce SIM-swap risk.

Laptop checklist

• Full-disk encryption enabled (FileVault/BitLocker).
• Separate browser profile for crypto (clean bookmarks, fewer extensions).
• Disable “remember passwords” in the browser; use a password manager.
• Back up files (encrypted) and keep OS updated.

Simple operational rules

• Don’t install “wallet helpers” or unknown extensions.
• Don’t sign transactions while distracted or rushed.
• For larger moves, use a dedicated device or hardware wallet workflow.
